I’m really not an alcoholic...

...and I haven’t had a drink this week. So following on from my previous post about snacks I wondered about the carbs in my normal tipple, wychwood.co.uk/beers/king-g...

I’m now off the beer.

But I may have a couple of glasses of Jack instead with a splash of Diet Coke. I believe they’re both carb free.

Apart from the knowledge that alcohol can hinder the metabolism, can anybody weigh in with anything I’ve missed or not given consideration to please?

Whilst I wait for your wisdom I’m off to play air guitar with the boys. Favourite workout of the week so far.

Alcohol makes me go in search of more cheese!

Have you seen Eleanorba s Drink less post under Pinned Posts? There's more info on there! :-) x

Considerations? Reduced impulse control (hence snacking), calories in the alcohol itself, it can act as a depressant, it can interrupt your sleep giving you raised cortisol, it can contribute to fatty liver and liver disease.

That being said, in my experience you can lose weight while drinking, and stopping drinking does not mean you will lose more weight. I have lost weight over the last 6 months, 5 of which I was drinking.

Beer is the worst! Ive cut down from drinking every day to two or three times a week. I drink wine or occasionally gin and tonic. At the moment I am still losing weight and, since I’ve been on LCHF, I don’t have cravings for unhealthy food the next day, although I tend to eat a few more carbs (50 - 60g instead of 20 - 30g).
