Welcome Veronica.

Advice about what? You've posted this in the weight loss peer support area. It's unlikely anyone here can help about your ulcer.

If you are looking for weight loss advice, tell us a little about yourself.

Hello Veronica and as Subtle_Badger has said, this is a peer to peer support forum for weight loss, so unfortunately I don’t think we can help you.

I’ve found this link on the NHS website which may be of use

nhs.uk/conditions/leg-ulcer/

I hope you can find some help from your GP or Practice Nurse

Best wishes

Indigo 😊

Hi, I really feel for you, my husband has suffered from them on and off for a number of years. So first off see if you can get put in touch with the district nurses they can teach you about dressing it yourself, also they can assess if you are suitable for comprehension bandages, which improve blood flow and healing, if you are then they may also recommend comprehension socks for regular wear once healed this has made a massive difference for my husband as he stands most the day in work. When your sitting try to elevate your legs as much as possible. Weight can be another factor so if you do have some to loose that will help, easier said than done if you have pain. With regards to the wound itself we have had mixed treatments between manuka honey or iodine both have worked, honey is great if there is any infection., but the nurses will be a good source of support and information. I hope this is some help, Take care and I hope you're healed soon

Hi and welcome, VeronicaXV :)

I think your post about your leg ulcer confused us and we didn't realise you were also here to lose weight. Many apologies for that.

All of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and I hope you'll be joining all the Events, Challenges and Clubs that we run, especially a weigh-in and the daily diary.

If you haven't already taken it, here's a tour of the forum healthunlocked.com/?tour=true

We've found active participation to be key to successful weight loss and, of course, it's a good way to get to know people, find inspiration and share support and encouragement.

Wishing you all the best :)

Hello, I sympathise and hope you find the help you need. I have had an ulcer twice on my ankle, and they are very unpleasant. Definitely get medical help, and after that the district nurse can come to your home to change the dressings. Take care. x
