Then slowly I gave just gone wild with Pringles and crisps chocolates cakes and Virtually everything ! I hope this works ! But as a vegetarian I have no clue what I should eat to lose weight all I eat is potatoes......

Feeling not great .
Hello and welcome Indigorouge
Do you have any idea why you changed your way of eating? I am not surprised you feel uncomfortable, you are eating a lot of carbs there and they are notorious for making us feel 'big and uncomfortable'. The good news is if you ditch them again, you will feel a lot better
Take a look at this

There is no reason why you can't have a varied, tasty and interesting diet as a vegetarian, although it shouldn't be based around potatoes. As you will see from the link above, potatoes, when digested, turn to sugar.
Here is a selection of lovely meals all designed for vegetarians

Useful video about potato , I will show that to my O. H. whom I'm trying to wean away from white carbs . Thank you lucigret 😊
Glad you found it useful Ellie
It reminds me of what I knew, but admit I have slipped a bit lately ...😩
Thank you so much for all the information ! All the weight is virtually on my stomach so I could pass as four months expecting . I am a full time working mum and the reason I have gained weight is partly cause I am so tired I reward myself with chocolate and crisps etc They make me feel happy when I'm feeling so tired. When I get home I wonder what to eat so evening I want something fast so I can get things ready for the next day so i will have pasta, jacket potato, rice or pizza anything that doesn't take too much time to make . I think I need to re educate myself about food .. but if I don't lose weight in a week my motivation goes and I kind of give up ! Really need to try this time !
Can I emphasise something that lucigret has already mentioned? The daily diary. Try to post to it each day with your eating plan. You won't follow it every day, but if you arrive tired from work, but you have a healthy plan in your head, you are much more likely to make a healthy meal.
And you will get lots of ideas, too.

Well, I could have written that a few years ago, only difference, I have 3 children!
I’m in my late 50’s (that sounds scary!) and lived on a diet similar to yours. I’m now insulin resistant, pre diabetic and find it incredibly difficult to lose weight! Please don’t leave it any longer to re educate your self, you don’t want to end up like me! I wish I had been given all the advice this forum has to offer years ago.
Ps - being tired can make us crave carbs, eating those carbs will then make us even more tired. It’s a vicious circle. Since dropping the carbs and including good fats into my meals , I have stopped feeling tired, have more energy and I rarely have any cravings.
Come and see what others are eating on the Daily Diary and see if you can find some inspiration.
You can do this 😊
I feel the same today. I am 54 and been in a constant yo-yo for 30 years. I now no longer know how to eat properly, and have fallen into a narrative of 'good' and 'bad' around my relationship with food and exercise. Everything aches, I'm lethargic and unhappy, but whenever I think about doing something positive, my attitude quickly descends into 'cba'. How do we switch this around in a sustainable way?
Hello and welcome to the forum, Donnasaur
You're right, that 'good' and 'bad' around food isn't helpful. Maybe you need to keep it simple with fresh food, home cooked, plenty of veg, eggs, whole dairy products, meat and fish if you eat them. Avoid processed stuff and that includes anything labelled low fat or light or diet - all heavily processed.
