I'm new here so nice to meet you all I'm planning to lose weight cos I'm overweight. Currently, I am losing 1kg a week which is great but when I went to the NHS website, it said that whilst your BMI can be in a great range, you can have a lot of excess body fat? My focus in my diet and I play football on a Tuesday for an hour (going to start playing Thursday for another hour). To lose that excess body fat, i understand that exercise is important to it but how important is dieting to losing body fat?

Losing weight through calorie restriction alone can result in loss of muscle. Exercising and (Intermittent) Fasting can reduce or prevent muscle loss.
