Day 8 complete

I weighed myself today and have lost 1.5lb. Not as much as I would have liked in my first week, but a lose is a lose. I’m still drinking 3 litres of water a day & no more than 3 coffees now. I’ve changed a couple of things too, different breakfast, more fruit. I wasn’t getting enough fibre according to MyFitnessPal. I take a lot of medication and ongoing health issues, so think my weight loss journey will be slow, but hopefully steady. 357 days to go.

Sounds like a good start :)

I hope you'll be joining in with the forum activities. We've found that active participation, chatting and supporting others, can be a huge boost. I see you used the Daily Diary last week. That's very interactive and they always welcome a new face, especially anyone who joins in and gives feedback - that's what it's all about.

What about the Tuesday weigh-in team? Their new host, Lytham , will give you a big welcome and, once you start chatting, you'll soon get to know people which will be a big help as you're here for a year :)

Congrats. It's easy to get caught up in the numbers when what has happened is you've stopped putting on weight and you've lost as well. You are already healthier than you were :)

Have you given yourself a mini goal to aim towards?

Not really, just hoping for a loss every week, even if only 1/2 lb.

Are bodies rarely do what you expect. In the last 12 weeks my weight went up on two separate occasions, despite sticking to plan. As this is my second time around I didn't let that phase me as it would have done the first time and just carried on doing the same things.

Well done on the loss! Nothing wrong with 1.5lb! You just stick the way to lose that you have chosen. And switch to another method if it is not working for you in the future. I swapped around in the past and found the best one for me, we are all different.

But 1.5 is a great start! The quick loss tends to come back and is impossible to keep up. Okay for losing about 7lb for a wedding, but no good for permanent larger loss.

You are doing fine!! 👍

Congratulations on your 1st weigh in that's a great start. I'm on my 1st week as well I never seen to lose big numbers but will be happy with anything that comes off, good luck going in your 2nd week :)

1-2 pounds a week is perfect. Making small changes for a future of healthy eating is a good way to lose weight and keep it off. Good luck on your weight loss journey.
