Just started this diet yesterday and off to a good start. Feeling positive and looking forward to shifting the weight. Have put on nearly 5 stone since getting married and having 3 kids. Looking forward to becoming a slimmer healthier version of myself. Any tips for meals suitable for all the family. Like to make all my meals from scratch which are healthy. For me my downfall is snacks eg biscuits but the biscuits are out and fruit is in.

Well done for taking the necessary steps to losing weight, but I would suggest you don't look at it as a diet, but as the start of your new and sustainable healthy lifestyle

Good morning, Urbangal
You're at a great advantage, making your meals from scratch, as is your family. I have done a lot of rethinking about what "healthy eating" means since I joined the forum, and I've also pushed myself on trying new foods and things that I thought I didn't like (usually because I once had them 20 years ago and didn't like them).
I hope you'll enjoy exploring and finding new ideas to add to your menus
Hello and welcome Urbangal
Your story is very similar to mine, I always cooked healthy meals from scratch and couldn’t understand why I was overweight. When I started writing down everything I was eating it was the snacks that were the problem!! Having some knowledge of calories makes it easier to understand where I was going wrong 😊
I have always cooked the same meals I just have more vegetables and less of the calorie dense foods. I have also reduced the bread/rice/pasta part of the meals and re-introduced full fat dairy. The beauty of calorie counting is that nothing is banned 😊
Good luck and best wishes
