One of my biggest challenges isn't so much over eating anymore it's trying to figure out what to eat and how much in order to lose weight and tone up, I'm planning on hopefully being pregnant soon and am stressing about how to maintain a healthy diet to lose weight before I fall pregnant and also during pregnancy etc, I have lost a bit of weight due to only eating once a day but not sure it's the healthiest way

If you've followed the link to the newbie pack, which you were given when you joined, Thornz, you'll find a link to the NHS BMI calculator, which will tell you how much you should be eating, there's a link to the 12 week plan, which will give you guidelines for healthy living. We have a Daily Diary, which is all about meal ideas and menu planning.

Apart from that, there are recipes in topics and thousands of posts you can read, all full of excellent advice :)

I have the issue of what to eat, try looking at the daily diary and you will get some ideas of what other people are eating.

Minniewinny has replied to your introduction post. Now you have the Newbie pack why not have a read and find your way to the weigh in today. You will be part of a group of people that will offer lots of support and encouragement and will become 'virtual' friends - it closes at 10pm tonight and tomorrows opens at 10pm tonight until 10pm tomorrow.

I was confused at first too! Do you use MyFitnessPal? I’ve been using that to log my food each day, do daily diary as it helps me so much. It takes about 5-10 mins to do but a very necessary investment for me. I set my calorie setting and just counted calories at first. I try to evenly split my calories over three meals with spare for drinks etc. If I aim at around 500 per meal give or take, it works. I don’t feel deprived all and now Im learning to tweak my foods to encourage more weight loss and importantly, this is to eat more not less!

It’s kind of like this:

Yoghurt, fruit and nuts

Salad with protein or maybe a packed omelette

Main meal with salad or veggies

Desert fruit and cream

I don’t think one meal per day is such a good idea for me and I don’t know how you manage!

I hope I don’t sound preachy! Just trying to help
