I have just had a patient at work compliement me on my weight loss she hasn't seen me for 6 weeks ( I have actually put on, but started being more active gym, dancing, swimming and walks)
The problem I know have is I get embarrassed when people do say something, as I still see the "Fat" girl looking at me in the mirror so I cant see how I have changed.
How can I start to accept these.

That's lovely gillmack ! Take any compliments you can get.
I've got mixed views on this. I can see I've lost weight and feel it in my clothes but I'm also aware I'm still way over-size and overweight. This works as a motivator for me as otherwise I could be a bit complacent about the progress I've made
Compliments are great and the gym is changing your body shape - you have most prob toned up and lost fat but gained muscle
It's not easy, but just learn to listen to the compliment, and say thank you, I found it hard to accept compliments, but I have learnt to smile and say thank you,
After all they are complimenting you on your hard work, determination, and strength of character, be what you want to be, not what your mind says you can be, good luck x
