Well I really thought I was making good progress after losing my first 10 pounds, but then I started to be honest with myself and knew my habits were not really changing too much. I was letting too many of my bad habits getting in my way of progress.
For example yesterday I went for a long walk, and followed it with a latte and flap jack. Both the walk and the dessert I enjoyed tremendously, but when I look at my chart over the last year I think it looks more like a cityscape rather than a steady downward slope. Then thinking about my own scheming and plans where I really do want to drink more water, go for more walks, cut back on those things that my sweet tooth crave for, etc. To make it clear I am not allowed caffeine so officially I should only have one cup of decaffeinated coffee a day maximum, but those skinny lattes are so enticing. As an aside the 10,000 step origins can be traced back to the Japanese walking clubs and a business slogan 30+ years ago. Also as you probably realise the diets of 1960s Japan are quite different than that of use in the Western World in 2018, and modern research suggests a shorter brisker walk is probably better for your health. However whatever gets you some exercise is better than sitting on your backside and watching mind numbing TV all day. So get motivated and get me motivated too!
