Hello and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum deb88 ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Very well done on stopping smoking, thatโ€™s a huge achievement. I think weight gain afterwards is quite common, but help is at hand

I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link

You'll find all the information you need to navigate the forum in the header and a link to the 12 week plan, so please take the time to read it carefully.

Wishing you all the best

Hi there and welcome. The most important thing is that you have quit smoking as that is absolutely the worst thing for you. Really well done. I did the same over 3 years ago, but that was not the reason for my weight. I was way too big anyway....a ticking time bomb for my health. The good news is that weight loss is a walk in the Park in comparison from my experience. Have a good read of all the information in Anna's post and get going. Good luck with it. James

Hi Debbie,

Well done on stopping smoking. Yes I was in exactly the same boat, after smoking for 40 yrs and I wasn't small to start with, but trying to use the New Year impetus ( and Tom Kerridge) to kick start a new regime.

I'm sure though, that its better to stop smoking than to keep smoking and be a little slimmer ;-)

Hope its going well for you
