Hi folks!

So I'm approaching the end of week one and i am managing really well each day up until it reaches around 7pm each night, then I crave food! I have been trying to not eat past 7 but if I absolutely must I have been reaching for fruit. But I want to try and stop this - any suggestions as to how I stop my late night hunger?

What times are you eating?

I eat at stupid O'Clock in the mornings when I work (as in my coffees are are between 5 - 7am then get to work and eat a banana, maybe a satsuma / clementine @ 11am and lunch at 1pm - if I get chance another snack about 3pm usually a satsuma then tea about 6.30 - 7pm )

Hope that helps :)

Hi I do jigsaws to distract the munchies I I Also drink fruit teas.

But you could always allow fora treat in your calorie count

Hi jor00029 - my solution has always been to leave enough in my allowance for an evening kitkat. Its my treat every day and it means I have something to look forward to :-)

Hi - why not try some diversionary tactics. For instance doing a manicure yourself, because then both hands are busy and sticking on nail varnish gives you an hour without succumbing to temptation. Although I accept that only works for 2 nights when you do the hands one night and feet the next.

Or the old trick of drinking oodles of water before, during and after a meal. And I also used to get up and brush my teeth as the toothpaste taste makes most food taste horrible...

Hi jor00029

I tend to drink more water in the evening to stop my eating and mentally close the kitchen come 7pm so all I can have is a drink. You could save a few calories from the day for a small treat in the evening but try to keep it within your calories.

I try and distract myself- reading, watching the tv or have a soak in the bath. The important thing I have found is don't have whatever food group is your vice- mine are crisps and bombay mix- in the house! It doesn't always work- I bought a large packet of Bombay Mix since I hadn't had any since December and I had thought I'd break the pack up and have 50g as part of my calorie allowance. However yesterday I ate over half the bag (400g bag) I wasn't hungry just fancied them though the good thing is that it wasn't as good I remembered them being but I still continued eating just for the sake of it. Now I feel annoyed with myself and have decided I am never buying them again, and don't really want to have anymore- though that maybe because its 7:28am but hopefully stuffed myself and didn't really like the new taste that it has cured me of one of my vices?

I hope you manage to find somehting that works for you- what time do you have your evening meal?- maybe have it slightly later so you are still feeling full whne you get the munchies.
