Hi Loulou06 and welcome.
You've definitely come to the right place and like you say, this forum is a great place to receive support.
You may feel like you have no willpower but you do... it just needs exercising. It's similar to the actual muscles in our body when we don't use them enough. And like physical exercise it can take a while to build up its strength but it will get stronger each time you use it.
When an administrator replies to this post, it's worth taking the time to read everything they say (even if you've read it before ).
Good luck and make sure you enjoy yourself along the way.
Thankyou, for the motivation I am determined to get healthier not just to lose the weight but for my core strength, as I have cervical spondylitis, so suffering less pain is something to look forward to, π€. It's wonderful how there's so much support on here.
I hope your journey is going well and congratulations for everything you have achieved x
Thanks (fingers crossed) its been going well so far.
I have problems with my 5 lower vertebrae and am supposed to be building up my core muscles. I was doing my exercises at first (and probably still should be ) but after losing 18kgs I'm hardly ever in pain.
Wow that's fantastic losing 18kg well done, I think im going to find it hard to keep up with the exercise, the physio said about an Exercise bike which I got {cheap second hand one}!! so that'll sit in spear room collecting dust after a couple o f weeks of use!! :} . x
The good news, is that exercise isn't a deal breaker. The basic formula is less calories in than calories out. For various reasons, there are people here that cannot exercise hardly at all and they lose weight.
However, to help keep your exercise motivation there are weekly challenges that you can get involved in that might help....

Willpower is yours to find! It's a case of making small changes which add up to a big change. I've lost four stone eleven pounds. You can do it. Make the change and it happens. Honest! Good luck π
Fantastic well Done, you must look Amazing. I am really determined to do it this time, o have try so many times!! But I haven't been in a group that has offered support like this, Thankyou, looking forward to my journey. May I ask how long it took you? πx

Hello Loulou06 and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum
Here are a few suggestions on how to get the most out of the forum. Please note if you are using the new HU App many of these features are not available so I suggest you use the full website version.
The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you. Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
The forum also have group weigh-ins every day, as well as a new Daily Diary, if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page. And if you just want to chat, to say hello or share any news or struggles then look out for What's Happening Today thread.
You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you have a 'Newbie' badge. We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too. If you have any questions please just ask
Best wishes
Anna
