Calories are not created equal

Just thought I'd share this for anyone who may be finding the hunger monster getting in the way of keeping calories within their guidelines. As you can see, the same amount of calories doesn't mean the same size meal.

What a fantastic visual aid. I'm going to print and put it on the fridge. Thanks for sharing 🌸

Your very welcome. Your lowest calories will be dark leafy greens and they also have the most amount of healthy vitamins. They may not be the most flavourful, but they are definitely worth adding in every day.

I'm Experimenting with making kimchi. Spicy fermented cabbage and vegetables. Thought it would be a satisfying filler with minimal calories. It's not ready yet but I'll let folk know what it's like. Anyone else make kimchi?

It's certainly interesting watching it make itself in the jar... ⏳. What kind of interesting will be revealed in a few days. Tx.

This is really interesting Cookie101 and it makes sense to fill up on low calories fresh fruit and veg. However, it's also important to eat a balance of fat, protein and carbs, the first two being especially good at satiety and preventing hunger. 😊

G'day Anna61, your absolutely right about that. As a vegan, I get my fats and protein from avocado, nuts, hummous, seeds, beans and lentils, even green leafy veg has protein in it! Carbs are easy too. I can't eat gluten but still have oats, potatoes, beans and lentils. Carbs are good for the slow release energy so you avoid the mid afternoon slump too so it's always good to include them in some way shape or form. Just in moderation.
