I am the same!! Sooooo bad.

If I know i'll be at home alone I end up 'popping to the shop' and bringing back junk food. I look it when I get home and think why have a bought this it's all rubbish, then I sit there and eat through it even when i've had enough or wasn't even hungry to begin with! After all that I look at the empty wrappers and why I spent all that money just to make myself fatter-quite depressing really-then I eat more food.

This is the first time I have really admitted that I do this. Hopefully we can break this cycle soon :) good luck x

There is a biological need to eat calorie dense food when you are tired or anxious. The body simply craves sugar and junk. The more often you eat it the more you want . . . It's a viscous cycle 😢

Very well done on speaking about this nicnacaustin that can't have been easy 😊

You are not alone

Hello 123cathy welcome to the Weight Loss Forum 😊

You are not alone, most of us have acted this way at some time. It's a viscous circle. But by taking small steps you can gain control and move towards a healthier lifestyle 😊

The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you ☺

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news ☺

Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for ☺

Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate ☺

The forum also have group weigh-ins every day if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page ☺

You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you may have a 'Newbie' badge. If you have any questions or would like a Newbie badge please just ask ☺

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too ☺

Best wishes

Anna

Don't get overly upset about this. We've all been there and beating yourself up over it will have the adverse effect and you'll probably end up doing it even more cause "why not, my diets ruined now anyway" syndrome I call it. But hay. This is not going to continue. I broke the habit by getting lots of 100 cal snacks in. Homemade popcorn is amazing, you can have loads for 100 cal. Boots do some lovely 100 choc bars too. I started by allowing myself 3 of these per day. On days I had too many it took willpower not to do the same next day, but eventually I cut down to two per day and sometimes I don't even have them now. Large oranges are lovely just now and I have one every day along with two other pieces of fruit. We're all hear to help each other. I've got two stone to loose and always fall at the 1stone hurdle, but I'm determined this time. Let's help each other and reach our goal, however long it takes🤗 Dark chocolate digestives are a good one too. I allow myself two on a Saturday and Sunday and have them even if I'm not desperate. Denying yourself everything doesn't work for me!
