Woo! It's the weekend - and look at the gorgeous weather!
Well, I've not been particularly exciting this week, all plans for roller skating scuppered by the local sports hall being hired out for an orchestra all week, but this will definitely occur next week!
This week I did a step aerobics video off YouTube and did a load of carpentry and decorating (which I finally finished at 9pm last night - who knew that it took so long!!) Today I plan to go for a massive walk along the coastal path because I need to be by the sea when it's this sunny!!
Hope you've all had a good week - what new things have you taken up?

Bad luck about the roller skating, BDB, but well done for doing the step aerobics!!
I'm afraid I've been totally useless for the first week! I've been a bit of an old crock, with sore ankles and knees, then whilst out in my green gym, I pulled a muscle in my shoulder/neck!!!
I shall definitely start scouring the internet for something to do, that won't have me ending up on crutches!!!
Good luck everyone, I hope you've done a better job than me!!
My hubby cleared out the loft and got my saxophone out, which I haven't played since before the kids were born (7 years ago). I treated them to a rendition lol I hope to start playing again, but my problem is, I don't really get any free time lol

Well done, hopefully you can find time to play, it sounds like a lovely way to relax xx

Thanks Kat and well done on your weight sessions and the shed!
Ah amazing! I used to play the tenor sax but that has long since been sold! I took up the guitar about two years ago though and love playing it. Best purchase is definitely going to be a dobro, love that bluegrass sound!
Hi BadlyDrawnBadger I've managed 2 10 minute light weight sessions, but I was struggling think this is going to be a slow process πͺ. We have completed step 1 of the shed change and enlargement, New base section has concrete π.
Well done on the step aerobics, have a lovely walk along the coast, it's definitely the place to be in this lovely weather π
moreless I'm really sorry to hear you have damaged yourself, take it easy now until you have fully recovered π please find anything that won't even give you the remotest chance of ending up on crutches π
Hope everyone has a lovely week, this weather is amazing (I'm burnt π±)
Well done! And like moreless says I should imagine all the shed action is better than any tins of beans could be!
I'm going to climb to the top of the local cliff head tomorrow - was just a bit too warm today for such exertions so did a flatter bit of the coastal path instead!
BadlyDrawnBadger don't forget to take lots of water with you tomorrow if you do the climb, it's meant to be just as hot oh and the factor 70, have fun xx
Woo! Well done - that's well over half the battle. I've found the best way to make sure I keep on going is by having set days/times I go and forcing myself to stick to them. Otherwise it'll permanently be "tomorrow"!
ooh may i join in with this? This week i have tried yoga for the first time and tomorrow will be running an 8k race, with a number and everything which i am very excited about .
Of course! How was yoga? I've never tried it or Pilates but do intend to at some point. And hoorah for the 8k race - good luck! Have you got a time you want to get under?
I loved yoga . . . really relaxing tho I had to chuckle when we stood on one leg and lifted the other behind bending it towards the head. The instructor said eventually we may be able to touch our heads with that leg!
I'd ideally like to do the race in under an hour so will see how I get on
Loving the flexibility optimism! And one day you'll be able to make an actual pretzel out of your body... good luck tomorrow! Let us know how you get on.
Wow everyone has done so well. Get better soon moreless. For me it was a little bike ride which I have been building up to for a couple of months now. I was so pleased when I actually did it! This week I might try a bit rebounding π. Have a great week everyone x
Hi . I have one at home and I bought a DVD called Bounce by Bouncing Becky. If you check YouTube out she has some videos on there. Although I would really like to find a class. π
Hello BadlyDrawnBadger you seem to be keeping busy its also been a good week for my self caz one of the other followers mentioned Leslie Sansone walking workout on YouTube i managed to do the 3 mile one she also introduces some arm workout with it the next day i could feel the ache in my arms must be working. I have also done miley cyrus leg workout several times this week, this morning i was awake at 5 a.m so decided to do my 20mn leg workout followed by a 30min cycle ride. I didnt lose any weight this week but i have lost 3 and half ins besides that i just feel i have so much energy, i am managing more than the 10000 steps and feeling so good. This is my second week on the NHS plan before i started i had no energy no motivation now it seems there are not enough hours in the day. I wish everyone the best of luck with their weight loss.
That's great Beatingthis - I know what you mean about energy. I climbed the hill near my flat the other day and normally when I get to the top I need to lie down but this time felt pretty chipper! And with all the lovely weather who wants to feel lethargic?
I love YouTube as a resource - means you can keep shaking up the routine without buying loads of different DVDs.
I've also had a bit of a difficult week, who knew the arrival of a new grandchild would be so stressful?? ππ
We are still working on the garden remodel so I've done many hours of digging and sieving weeds out of the soil I am moving - great exercise but hard work!!
However, I do have a Pilates DVD I bought (that was recommended by someone on here) and I intend to try it today π
No worries! I don't envy you the back breaking gardening - it is one thing I genuinely can't stand doing (which is why I have a paved yard!) But am sure yours will look stunning when you've finished the remodel!
Good luck with the Pilates DVD - going to one of those classes at my gym is definitely on this list for this month as I've heard so many good things about it.
Sorry I am late I thought it was today to review the week but it must be Saturday- I am doing reboot challenge and exercise challenge so I get a bit confused when each challenge needs to be reviewed!
Well I have done a lot of very brisk walking- (3.5m in 50mins- walking under 15min per mile) total of 140mins. Most of this is a designated walk- walking into town rather than getting the bus, but I also park car off site and walking to work which takes me 10mins. Though I am on my feet for most of my shift its not at the brisk pace to class as moderate exercise.
Gardening- 185mins- weeding, planting and mowing the lawn- plan to do some more today once the bin men g=have emptied my very full garden waste bin
Wii Zumba- beginner level- 31mins (trying to add a bit of variety to my aerobic exercise) which is usually walking. i really enjoyed it so plan to use it more frequently- I have a few Wii exercise discs- Keep fit, Dance 3 and zumba so thought I'd go down memory lane and use the discs which I haven't for years.
NHS Strength & Flex level 5 exercise- 30mins
I need to plan days in the week when I do exercise or otherwise like BadlyDrawnBadger it will always be tomorrow!
Haha - no worries! And yay for wii fit! My ex used to have one and I had loads of Just Dance / Zumba discs for it but is about the only thing I miss from that relationship! Maybe one day I'll get another one so I can wiggle away again! Great that you've dug them out of the cupboard again!
And well done for getting some strength in there on top of the gardening - as strength seems to be most people's nemisis!
This week BadlyDrawnBadger I am going to try and take part. Mum's still in hospital but is improving, so time to try and get back on track. My skipping rope has arrived so my aim is to try and skip each day, may not be for long, but we shall see.
Hope she gets better soon. Hooray for the skipping rope - I think anything over 30seconds for a first attempt should be lauded as a huge success as is the most exhausting thing in the world!
oh myπ± 100 skips, not all standing in one place and I can only manage 10 to 12 in one go with a one skip worth break in-between. My heart is pounding. I did a Leslie Sansone 1 mile walk before hand, so muscles are warm. So in 16 minutes today I already feel like I've had a work out, now for a shower!π¨πΏ
Haha! I always knew skipping was evil! Well done! Although I bet it's something you can increase quite quickly, so you'll be really chuffed if you've doubled or tripled that amount by the end of the month!
