I agree with the principles but not the language πŸ˜• Why 'cheat' meal ? I prefer to plan for a few extra calories . Why use food as a 'reward'?

Food for thought.

Food as a reward isn't good for me... much better is the Chanel lipstick I bought myself yesterday for losing my 4th stone.

I was interested to read this Hidden . I have only had 'cheat meals' for 2 days at Xmas and 2 at New Year. Got one planned for March and one planned for April but maybe I should add more in. I worry if I have them too often it will undo the good I am doing or make me want the bad stuff too much. I had a pizza on 2nd January and since then nothing except veg, fruit and meat / fish. All cooked by scratch. Maybe I should have one a month! I will discuss it with OH. Wouldn't hurt to try it and see if I still lose weight. Thanks for making me think.

I have this type of meal every week, usually on weigh in day. I would fail completely if I felt I could never have little indulgences.

I'm the same wa2un7 I have a few extras at weekends or when I'm out ☺ I'm in this for the long haul and enjoy my food. But I don't class it as cheating! ! Lol πŸ˜†

I don't like the psychologyof calling it cheat meals. I do cycle my calories in a planned way which makes the diet more easy to fit into a social life and means I can enjoy special occasions. Eg . My daily allowance is (when losing) is 1200 calories a day. I multiply by 7 and then allocate more some days and less others but never less than 1000 per day. So if I know I am going out on Friday night, and having family visit on Sunday I may split them like this . Mon 1000, tues. 1200. Weds 1000, Thurs. 1100, fri1500, sat 1100 Sunday 1500

I try not to have a low intake day on a high exercise day.

It works for me and it is not cheating but a planned lifestyle choice. When maintaining I do the same but with a higher allowance.

I only have refined sugar on celebration days ( birthdays, weddings. Christmas. And enjoy it all the more as it's a treat)

I'm not sure why it is called a cheat meal, but it does seem to work.

You have a good system worked out there.

Tried it and it works! ....... BUT my issue is cheat MEAL often turns into cheat DAY!
