Basically a calorie restricted diet. Depending on your current weight, there are various websites which will help you work out your BMI, tell you how many calories would be requir d to maintain this weight, and how many you would need to restrict yourself to in order to lose weight. Most sensible eating plans will help you lose 1-2lb per week. Download the NHS 12 week plan and/or MyFitnessPal and see if that might suit. Faddy diets aren't sustainable long term. Basically eating sensibly, a varied diet, but smaller portions or counting calories will do it for you.

Look at what your eating habits are now. Do you eat lot's of processed fatty foods? Do you eat biscuits and crisps, or takeaways? Do you eat a lot of snacks every day? It could be that just eating less of these things will see you lose weight. Don't forget alcohol has calories too!
