Just had news by letter that my GP surgery has taken into there hands to move me from my doc who I'm getting on well with to someone else.letter came just before Christmas. They say that my doc is cutting a day at the surgery.so seeing him should not be affected. Should it.im wondering who makes the decision to do this .๐

Well unless you need to see someone at short notice and can't see your usual doctor, you can always ask to see your preferred doctor. You are not obliged to see the one who the surgery says has responsibility for you. So really you shouldn't notice any difference there. The health centre manager will have made the decision to shorten the list of your doctor's patients if he/she is going part time. So there should be no need for you to worry.

Phew!! My doc was appointed when I registered and he was new then to me as I was to him.that was3 yr ago. You can now understand how I felt when they mentioned about putting me with another. It's good to know I can stay with mine.who knows me well now.
Thankyou tubbyteacher.๐
I wouldn't worry. In multi Dr surgery you can usually see anyone...Make sure you don't go on his day off. They will simply be re distributing numbers fairly. They can actually kick you out of the practice without even an explanation if they so want so don't take it too personally. I've been with my GP for over 13 years and have no idea what she looks like as I have never ever seen her. โบ
