Chinese Meal

I've just had a Chinese meal out with my family, but how on earth can I estimate calories there? Any ideas? A few prawn crackers, 2 aromatic duck pancakes with plum sauce, 2 small bowls rice with beef and pork, a small orange and 1 mint chocolate.

Does the restaurant have its menu online? Calories might be stated there or try and work them out on a weightloss app or Nutracheck.

Prawn crackers 114 for 5

1 Large crispy duck pancake 193

100g rice 117

Beef and pork -depends on the amount and how cooked etc.

Orange 58 medium.

Chocolate about 30 cal's per chocolate.

Hope that helps 😀

Had a take away last night, checked the on line menu, didn't have calories listed so used myfitnesspal. Crispy beef and fried rice, only had half the rice but, if I worked it out right, whole meal took me over my daily calorie intake. Knew I should have cooked last night instead of leaving it to OH!

This was a family event so I didn't mind going high, especially as I ate very well for b'fast and lunch. And would you believe, I gained no weight from yesterday morning. But main thing is that my head is in this now and focussed. Expecting a weight loss next week.

I have a Rosemary Conley calorie guide which I bought from wh smiths it has an eating out guide which shows average calories for all the major take away groups ie Chinese Indian Italian it gives you an idea before you go,out what the better choices would be. Any way it was a family celebration you are allowed to live a little hope you enjoyed the company and the food - just draw a line under last night today is a fresh start

Thanks. I'm quietly amazed at the amount of positive support on this forum.

An enjoyable night with family and friends is part of ones life and to live within your new lifestyle in the future eating out you may find out you have changed at how you look at the foods, Some places you eat have lot's of calories there is little or know way around it, others you can order a steak with 2 side of veggie's and be done without starch. Enjoy your life have a drink to celebrate once and a while. The weight program is a process not a trail by fire.
