Yesterday went out the window 😯

β€’9 Replies

Yesterday was my partners birthday, I stuck to my plan morning and afternoon but in the night I had a few too many drinks and ordered a pizza as a result. I'm gutted but then I think it's an occasion so is it so bad?

Of course it would have been better if you had not eaten a pizza, but try to focus on the fact that you did make good choices all morning and afternoon. It could have been a lot worse.

A pizza can be very high in calories, up to 1200, depending on the toppings. But if you go for a brisk walk for an hour you'll burn around 300 calories - do that for the next four days - and the balance is back.

Hi Chelsea,

Not much point in beating yourself up over yesterday. After all, sometimes a birthday needs a bit of celebration! And the point of all this is to change your lifestyle so that you can cope with these events. What's the point if you're on a "diet" for the rest of your life? It's about learning to make good choices and incorporating the occasional treat or celebration without going back to the habits that gave us the trouble (and weight :) ) in the first place.

Yesterday happened and it sounds like you had a great time for your partner's birthday. That's the important thing. Now you can draw a line under it and get back to where you know you should be today. We've all had those sort of days, but it's about carrying on afterwards.

Good luck! :D

Thank you I'm new at this and I feel more reassured now :)

What was it about yesterday???????? I think there area a few of us that went off the wagon yesterday!!! Myself included!! Just get back up and dust yourself off...it is about getting back up when we fall too, because there will be occasions when our resolve weakens. :) I shall be trying my best to make up for the damage of yesterday!!

I have to agree, yesterday didn't go so well for me either. I think it was the cold! I definitely didn't need seconds of the roasted vegetables and bread I made for dinner yesterday. Luckily, it wasn't too bad because vegetables are good, but the extra bread didn't help! (maybe it was the weather) :(

Will have to keep a better eye on things today. :)

It was a special occasion, don't ever feel bad about that.

As your partner only has one birthday a year, then I can't see that having a day off your regime is really so terrible at all. Best to draw a line under it, and carry on next day as though nothing has happened!
