I should have kept my big mouth shut but I didn't and a fews weeks ago I said to Zest during a Monday weigh-in session that I'd like to be able to get back into my Buffalo Jacket (with the sides zipped up - no cheating) and if I could I'd take a picture of me wearing it today. So, this is me wearing it the day I finished cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End just after my 42 birthday on the 24th August 1996. It was a bit breezy that day and not very warm. The other one if me a few minutes ago in 42 degree heat wearing the jacket which is supposed to keep you warm in the snow! But it is zipped up both sides something I've not been able to do for a long time! Same bike, jacket and husband 20 years on.....

Twenty years ago and today!
Phantasmagorical, jenyfer! WTG you! What a star and what an absolutely fabulous picture! You look as good as, if not better, than you did 20 years ago! WOW!!!
Ha Ha ... moreless flattery will get you anything I thought I'd die out there in the heat with that silly jacket on. Glad I'm not cycling today - just the run this morning.
You look fantastic 😀 well done Hidden x
Thanks Claire2stone I wasn't going to bother then albinohedgehog posted about strengths and I mentioned I always do things I say I'm going to do! So I thought what the heck I can stand in that heat for a few minutes and get a photo taken.
Congratulations 🎉
Thanks Hidden it's a long time since I had those zips done up!
Well done that's fantastic
Thanks Hidden I hope I can still ride my bike in another 20 years times
Fantastic 😊 Great photo, you look amazing 😊😊😊
You are too kind IndigoBlue61 it does not seem that long ago which is a bit scary. Not many holidays I can remember each day but that one I can. As you can see it was August but as we came over the Lecht it was snowing I was glad of the jacket that day for sure....
That's one of my favourite roads . . . But in a car!!! Lol 😊 I know it well 😊
My aim is to get back in my wedding dress . . . 25 years in February, I fell pregnant very quickly and it hasn't fitted since . . Anothet stone should do it 😊😊😊
Ha ha - we had a hot chocolate at the cafe at the top it was a freezing cold day but when we got down into Braemar it was baking hot! Oh, yes wedding dress photo - that's a mini challenge for you IndigoBlue61 looking forward to the photo
It fastens now - bit tight though!! Lol 😊
Now if that is what cycling does for you, I had better dig out my mountain bike and pump up the tyres.....(it is a while since it saw the light of day). Well done for getting back into your jacket, not to mention back on the bike!
DartmoorDumpling I sure do wish I found running as comfortable as cycling - that is never easy for me and this morning it was a proper slog. I love the freedom a bike gives you - a couple of years ago we got on the bike outside our front door and cycled to Germany - easy when you live in the middle of France.
Oooh that's so fabulous ( but a tad warm ). Well done
Mollydex a tad warm indeed and it's still in the mid 30s - heatwave set to last into next week.
Great feeling to see you fit after 20 years time.
Best of luck.
I'm really happy to be fit Alli_Awan- and intend to stay that way! Well, I'm going to try my hardest to stay that way
Amazing stuff x
Crimson85j thanks I've been very fortunate in that I've been all over Europe on that bike the problem is now I'm not that keen on sleeping on the ground in a wee tent!
So we're cycling bnb to bnb now? lols x x
I wonder if an exercise bike will deliver the same fantastic results?!?! Xxx
slimpickings I've still got a way to go but must admit regular exercise really does make a difference. I started running when I was 57 and I think I can honestly say it has changed my life. Last year I picked up and injury and put on the weight I'm now trying to lose - it will be gone soon!
Hi Jenyfer,
I hope I'm not too late to comment on your post, as I'm back from my holiday, and it's really great to see this post and your lovely photos. Really inspiring. But I think you've left the forum, as your name is 'Hidden' - I'm so sorry you've gone, but I'm hoping it's because you are doing something amazing and enjoying life.
You look great!
I realise you may never get to see my reply, but I wanted to reply anyway, and wish you all the very best for the future.

well done you, I did similar thing with a dress I wore on my 30th birthday and never thought I would squeeze into that again but I did, The trouble I have found with keeping the stuff, mine is even older as I am 67 is that a, it smells as its been in loft and b, its old fashioned or c, its biodegraded. So now with move I am decluttering and not keeping anything but it was good to see I could get into it. I was always going to get thinner its only taken me 27 years!! what a waste however you look at it. Its all down to keeping sane so you don't need to comfort eat in my case . best wishes and keep cycling
