For me it was two things. The first being that my clothes started to fit again. And then that I could fit into clothes I had "grown" out of!

The second thing is how much better I feel in myself. Eating more healthily and exercising has helped me go a long way towards feeling happy with me. I have more energy and a (generally :) ) more positive attitude towards reaching my goals. I now feel I can get there and that a little wobble or slip along the way is just that, a detour to where I'm going and not the end of the world.

Good luck to you!

Hi Alli_Awan,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. I think you might find our Welcome Newbie post really enlightening in terms of sharing many of the things that have helped to motivate people to continue and enjoy the NHS 12 week plan, as many of us follow the principles of the plan, and have been successful in our weight loss journeys - but what is especially helpful is the support and friendliness of the community here, and I hope you'll enjoy being part of it. I'd recommend joining in with the various Challenges, as they are fun and motivating too. The Monday group weigh-in is a large and supportive group, if you like the idea of a weekly weigh-in.

Anyway, here's the Welcome Newbie post I mentioned. moreless has put this together, and I hope you'll enjoy having a read through, if you want to of course!

Hi I guess my original motivation was to lose the muffin top (re the name). But as time has gone on and I have been able to do more things like going up stairs without puffing and sitting more comfortably in the car without feeling like my jeans are cutting me in half, I think it is my health that is the biggest motivation. I am fast approaching 50 and decided that I wanted to try to lose the weight now as I know it can become harder as you get older. Good luck for your weight loss journey :)
