I think it purely depends if you feel hungry? Sometimes i have just under 1000 calories (not often!) and i don't feel particulary hungry so tend not to force myself to eat or have a piece of fruit so i don't wake up in the middle of the night hungry.

If you feel hungry have something because you have the calories there to use.

Good luck with your weight loss

Thank you. I was worried not having all the calories would slow down my weight loss or stop be loosing. I haven't been too hungry today which has been good. Had a snack a jack there with a cup of tea  just cause I wasn't tkk hungry. Thank you! Youu too x

Your welcome.

No it won't slow down your weight loss they are there for you to consume.

I use mfp and they say 1200 calories the nhs plan says 1400 so i tend to stick to 1200 but i know that 1400 is max although i haven't gone over 1200 since i started.

Hi gem21. I sometimes find at the end of the day I am under my limit too. I don't then want to start eating extra calories late at night especially if I am not hungry.  I usually find it evens out over the week so if I am 100 or so over at the weekend then I am ok as I was under earlier in the week. I think it all works out in the end. Best to stick to your daily allowance as much as possible then you know you are getting all the right nutrients for the day :)

As far as I know, you should eat 1200cals mininum. You won't be able to sustain a diet under this amount and will invariably get tired of it and reach for the biscuits! Plus its not healthy in the long run

I don't count calories, I go by protein and carbs. I try to have as much protein as I can during the day, and have a small carb treat when I get in from work. :)

I think it depends of how you feel, how your body feels. If you are hungry then top up but I wouldn't force myself just to reach a certain amount of calories. It you eat something that is really filling and healthy then you are fine. I have changed to Muesli for breakfast and find that I am full until lunch time at least. Before, I used to have a small can of tuna and 6 cruskit slices and needed a snack during the morning.

I usually just have a glass of rice milk or orange juice to top up my calories to get to over 1000 if I am below. I am not sure it is healthy to go too low. Great that you are staying under your limit. Well done!
