Cd: Hi has anyone tryed Paul McKenna... - Weight Loss Support
Cd
Hi Cswood, yes I tried Paul McKenna's I can make you thin CD a couple of years ago I think! He obviously didn't manage it or I wouldn't be here! I did find it very relaxing tho! His voice is very soothing and sometimes I'd even fall asleep whilst listening to him!
But that's only me!! And it may work for you! Give it a go!
I also tried gastric band hypnosis too! Hmmm...... boy have I wasted money!! Good luck x
I tried Paul Mckenna too...it did work, for a while but as everyone said I ended up in the same boat eventually. It encourages you to eat 'what you want, until you are full etc','listen to your stomach'etc. But you can do that yourself really. I tried the Gastric Band hypnosis too but couldn't cope with it as it describes going to surgery etc and as I've been thru a lot of surgery couldn't face pretend surgery as well! 😂
Hi, I did the Paul McKenna cd a few years ago and it did work, I lost a stone, put it on again but to be fair I stopped following the advice and listened to my emotions and sugar cravings instead of what food my body really wanted! Most of it is common sense and a healthy attitude to food really: only eat if you're actually physically hungry, eat slowly and enjoy it (mindful eating) and stop when you're satisfied (not stuffed). The bit I struggled with back then was the bit that said " eat what you want not what you think you should" . I know that's aimed at stopping people eating "diet" food, being unsatisfied , and consequently giving up, but it only works if you are able to pay attention to what your body needs, and doesn't work so well if you're an emotional eater. I havent listened to the cd for several years now but a year ago I lost a stone, pretty much quit junk food and seem to be able to maintain weight by doing the above. Now trying to lose my last two stone but having to count calories again for (very slow) weight loss. Just my experience but the Paul McKenna thing worked better for weight loss when I had more to lose. I still see it as a good way of developing a healthy relationship with food though, and it's also a really useful technique to limit damage in situations when you can't know the calories or are tempted to overeat (eg buffets). I'd say it's worth a try, especially if you can buy it cheaply secondhand. Good luck☀️
I tried it but it didn't help me at all.
I tried it, and it didn't work. I used Susan Hepburn's "hypnodiet" a few years later, and would thoroughly recommend it! I lost around 3 stone with that one. My eating habits are changed to this day (8 years on), as it put me right off soft drinks. The change was remarkable - I didn't need much will power.
Although I gained weight back (hence why I'm here) it was because I didn't quite get over the emotional eating side of my diet (final year of uni, family health issues, my own health issues) but you may do better. Would recommend it over Paul any day of the week.
I still listen to this. I've never followed the book that went with it as there are just far too many things to do and rehearse everyday (I don't really have time for that) but while it didn't help.me lose any weight I still listen to it for its relaxing qualities and sometimes when I'm not feeling good about myself it is a good reality check and self-esteem booster. Also if I want an excuse for a half an hour nap it works great!
