Hi guys, started the plan today but just wondering what everyone uses tonkeep track of calories? I know it says on the plan we should be having 1400 but my fitness pal is saying my goal is about 2000 and I really don't want to be eating to many.

Thanks.

2000 sounds like the calorie allowance for a maintenance diet - maybe the MyfitnessPal thinks you are the right weight for your height?

To lose weight, the program will not normally allow you to eat less than 1400

calories, and it will allow some calories depending on the amount of activity you

do - the more active you are, the higher your allowance.

The other online calorie diary is Nutracheck which is free for a trial week and then costs a fee depending on how long you sign up for.

Try the NHS calorie checker. I used this and it gave me about the same calorie intake as myfitnesspal which I use to keep track of my food and fitness. Good luck x

Hi @jem21

I use myfitnesspal to log my food to get the calories and to work out the calories in recipes. I then transfer this to the 12 week plan tracker form. I don't bother following their advice on what calorie intake I should have as it's more geared up for sports people on training regimes (that's the impression I get anyway).

If you use the NHS site to obtain your BMI, there is a suggested calorie intake at the end of the calculation. You could aim somewhere between the two if this helps you to get started? I find it also makes you feel a bit better if you exceed the 1400 calories a day, providing you're still within the recommended limit as shown alongside your BMI.

Hi I started diets before and now started to watch the calories and now lost two stone. I find its the best way to do it as you have no need to go with out. I got a new smaller plate  salad one. so have cut the size of meals which I do like. I go for 1.400 a day but find that's two much to eat. I am now having 3 meals a day. which is good. and I sleep better and like to say told my hubby I need to go shopping lol as I got nothing now that fits right. good luck you can do it . :)
