Exercise type?

If you do aquarobics, is that classed as a strengthening exercise or a cardio work out. Resistance caused by the water in my mind would be strengthening, but others may feel differently. Answers please. :-)

I think it is a bit of both. You do get the heart rate up while moving, so in that way, it is a cardio activity, but you are right, there is an element of strengthening too. It is a very good all round activity!

Although I like swimming in the sea for a while, pool water with the chlorine additive is not for me...personally i need to try the cross trainer as my leg muscles need strengthening much much more. I can use the treadmill for a long time, but find with the cross trainer, my legs cannot take much more than a few minutes...lol

Both, depending on the instructor though. We increase resistance in a lot of the exercises by using foam noodles, dumbbells, hand paddles etc.

So do we. Those dumbbells under water are a killer when your cycling your arms!!

When I did aquarobics, I was told it was both. But like all exercise, it depends on how much you put into it I think. It's good fun though so enjoy it ..... at the end of the day, it all helps 😊😊
