Historically I have been really successful with Slimming World but I want to find a clean & long-term lifestyle that is healthy and sustainable. I am eating largely vegetarian diet with some fish a couple of times a week. I have lost about 7lbs since the beginning of the year and have really upped my activity level. I would like the weight to come off faster so may need to be more rigorous with calories...

Trying it lose it...
Welcome. This is a friendly place. It us free to us and makes a good focus. Lowcal runs a weigh I. Thread on a Monday.
Eating less of high calorie foods (particularly sugar and carbs) which have less true nutritional benefits and more low calorie but filling foods that release energy in a consistent manner is the way I did it.
There is lots of good advice on the nhs 12 week plan which kicks off a healthy lifestyle.
My story is that of a Yoyo dieter but hopefully I have now developed a good healthy eating plan for life. I needed to be aware of calories and nutrition to get here.
I did the 12 weeks and counted calories but saw it much more as a lifestyle change than a diet. I changed my relationship with food.
I cut out refined sugars and now have them only on celebration days ( birthdays and the like ). I can consequently eat more good foods so never feel hungry and have loads of constant energy without the peaks and troughs.
I have been at or below my goal weight since the end of September but still weigh in weekly as I am determined not to slip back intothe Yoyo habit.
This forum helps to keep me focused on health and you will get loads of encouragement here.
Thank you.
