The anticipation...

About this time every week, I have a cheeky step on the scales and hope, pray and cross fingers, toes and eyes, etc, etc, that any weight loss will stick around until Monday and that the stupid leg won't swell up and destroy it all! I am hoping that it stays where it was at this morning, or even goes down a little further...it would mean I've lost the pound I put on over my holiday, and an additional half a pound. I could live with that. If it goes up on Monday morning again, I shall recommend to my husband that he and my son move to Alaska to avoid my bad mood for the week! It would still be a warmer climate there than the chill I would cause in this house! I know weight naturally fluctuates, but when the loss is so very slow due to lack of exercise, every little helps to keep me motivated and I get annoyed if it doesn't show itself on the Monday morning weigh in! Never mind, I am not giving up, just having a bit of a rant and stamping of the toddler feet about how unfair the scales can be! Onwards and downwards...

(Hugs) WeightWarrior, it's so hard when all the hard work isn't shown on the scales😋 Chin up, we'll get there in the end. This isn't a race, people keep telling me, sod that I want to be slim now!!!!!!😂

Lollllll me too! Or at least, just a pound loss a week for the fact that I don't cheat or go over my recommended calories would be nice. Mother nature and weighing scales are very cruel creatures at times!

Yep, having a bad week myself, and was up a whopping 2 1/2 lbs by Thursday. I'm blaming Tesco's for not stocking Jordan's Muesli. I checked out the Alpen and the calories were similar weight for weight. I should have known better. Alpen has added sugar and simply did not satisfy and I ended up having 2 or 3 of my normal portions, and extra 700 Kcal per day. On top of that, grandchildren were off school with a cold and were off their food. So I ate that as well.

This morning, my wife wanted a full English with chips, and yes, I joined her.

The scales won't show a successful week for me either. :D

But hey, it's just a small hiccup. So don't allow yourself to get in a bad mood, you are in control and you will beat the scales. Even if you lose a battle or to, you will win the war :)

One thing I will add though, my other measurements such as my waist are continuing to show very steady shrinkage. I use this measurement to decide whether the scales are trying to wind me up. And I think they are :)

I hope you are pleasantly surprised on Monday. (sorry for rambling on a bit).

I felt exactly the way how you are feeling right now. Tried so hard and scales showed nothing but than a week later it did show. There is always hope. Hang in their!

Good luck WW - I hope the scales will be smiling for you tomorrow :-) I know how you feel about the scales needing to go down for motivation. When they seem to stick or fluctuate, it really is frustrating if you know you've been 'good'. !

Lots of luck for tomorrow. Maybe stick today's weigh-in 'in the bank' - it looks like you ARE seeing a reward for your hard work, albeit a day early... If the scales don't show the same tomorrow then at least tell yourself you know you are losing weight really. And keep reminding yourself what all those lbs and half lbs are equivalent to - every half lb is like a pack of butter, every lb a can of baked beans. Which is incredible when you think about these amounts of fat permanently gone from your body. Keep visualising and believing :)

Thanks everyone for your support, you are the best! I had a shock and spent a while moving the scales round the kitchen today to make sure the reading was right. The reading elsewhere was a pound over my usual weigh in spot, so I took that higher reading but still came out at minus 5 1/2 pounds. Not sure HOW I did it, but maybe it was the weight loss I should have had for the last 3 weeks lol (had a poor couple of weeks before this week, holiday etc). Can't imagine next week is going to be anything like it, I'll probably go up 2 pounds eating the same things - no rhyme nor reason to it lol. Ah well, we just keep going, long journey and all that...
