I think it would be detrimental to your metabolism to eat less, you'd be better off stepping it up a bit to boost it - i.e. eating a bit more. Also, there are other ways to boost metabolism, like doing strength training to help build muscle, which helps burn more calories, I've also read that eating some spicy foods can help rev up the metabolism.
Why not look at online suggestions for revving the metabolism, and see if any of them would suit you?

Try increasing your calorie intake for a little and then decrease again.
Or add a new type of exercise to your work out plan.
