My motivation is getting back in to the majority of my wardrobe so I don't have to go out and buy new clothes!

I've always had metabolism issues and was under a dietician and OT from birth until the age of 10...when I was a child my mum did well to keep me as slim as possible. Now admittedly when obi was a teenager I over ate at college and stuff but remained active. In my late teens my weight had ballooned, I went back to my doctor for help as judging cutting food and remaining active was not having the desired effect Despite my medical history the only advice hennaed for me was chew my food more!! I battled into my early twenties and at my heaviest was 95kg at 5 foot 2. I was later diagnosed with PCOS and through a cominbination of metformin and orlistat and a very good GP who reviewed me monthly I got down to 72kg. I moved backed home and all this support from NHS stopped my weight has slowly kept back up to around 13 St...I just want to have a body that actually reflects how healthy I am on the inside as even my new Dr. Says on the inside I'm a size 10!!!

Sounds like you've had a really hard time with your weight and haven't always had the support you deserve. How are you getting on now?

2 things

1) I've got arthritis and want to relieve joint pain

2) I can see myself in the mirror at salsa and don't like what I see!

Looking forward to being less flabby when salsa starts again in September.

The support of this community and the Myfitnesspal app help keep me on track too 😄

After 40 years of being unhealthy both mentally and physically I have had enough.

18 months ago I quit drinking and gambling, 3 months ago gave up smoking and this week its onto the big one - literally LOL

My goal is to participate in the Sydney City To Surf in August next year.

I don't care if I have to crawl over the finish line I am FINISHING that run!!!

This coming from an EX 40 a day 40 years smoker who is almost exactly twice the weight he should be.

Watch this ever shrinking space!
