Hi Yvonnenanny1965,

I think gardening is excellent exercise. Lots of energy expended, depending on what tasks you're doing. 3 hours is a good long bout of exercise too. Hope you got lots done in that time, and that you're pleased with the results.

Lowcal :-)

Yeah mowed strimmed weeded tidied 2 large gardens as front and bk are fairly big! :-) xxx

Imagine if you were in a gym class and they asked you to bend over X times, walk up and down X times, lift up and put down items of various different weights X times, for 3 hours. That's what you've just been doing. Of course it's exercise. You probably need a thirst quenching sports drink now - or tea works too :)

Yes great exercise. Well done you!

Yes, and it's enjoyable too") Have been wanting to plant a vegetable garden for a long time now, have everything to do it, just need too") Maybe today's the day!!

Have a great day!!

Definitely, unless you were just pricking out seedlings in the greenhouse!

If I'm gardening I don't think about food. Might be all the colours around so it's filling up your senses. :)

Good exercise, especially if it means you're not sitting down! Any movement that's not sitting or lying is good. I'm doubtful about a sports drink though. You really need to be training for a marathon to justify one of those.

As to Sammygirl, this is not the best time of year to plant veggies, there's not enough of the season left. That said what part of the world are you in? There are a few veggies that can overwinter ok. Winter Kale, some spring greens and there are onions and broad beans that can be planted now for early next summer. You might just get some lettuces in September if you're quick.

Not what you're looking for?
