So annoyed with myself. Keep giving in to temptation at work. People bring in chocolate and rubbish and I cant say no. Grrrrr. I need to keep focused. Going to try and cut carbs out too for a while. If I do that and continue with the gym, maybe something will go happen. Happy sunny Thursday to you all x

Hi I just wrote an article about giving in the temptation on our facebook group. If you want to message me privately I'll send you a copy.

Sorry if you are already doing this...Are you writing down everything you eat and drink? It's known in medical circles that keeping a food diary alone helps people eat more sensibly. I did this a few years ago for my dietician to look at why my cholesterol was a bit high, and within four days I was eating differently with little effort because I kept thinking "I'll have to write this down later..."

I really feel for you because I've just left a job with a very similar environment and I know it's hard.

I hope the people you work with are nice. Tell at least one of them about your weight loss plan and they can keep an eye on you and encourage you when you waver. My work team have been fabulous, supportive and encouraging. One of them actually said I was inspiring her to eat more healthily, she then got a text from her daughter saying "can we have another lovely dinner like last night?"

So engage your colleagues in your new regime, and keep a few healthy snacks handy !

You will master it soon enough it's not easy when everyone around you is tucking in, I know I've been there. Will power is all you need. Something that helped me when people were tucking into something nice was I nipped out to the loo or went on my break. Just an idea

Hi I have a similar problem with m work when it's a birthday. I just have a little bit and build it into my calories. Tomorrow will be hard because its doughnut day but I will be strong and not eat it. My works colleagues think I am mad. Good luck and think how you will feel after you have eaten it before you do. Hope this helps.

You need to find your inner smugness. Look at treats, think to yourself I could but I won't, walk off feeling smug!

Please try it, you can do it. Seriously if I can anyone can!!

I also always have planned treats on a Friday and that helps as I know I can eat a doughnut or whatever on Friday.

Good luck :)

I went into a charity shop today with my little one in her buggy. He said that they were given some biscuits and would she like one. I said yes, and that she allowed, although of course, I'm not. She didn't it, crumbling in my handbag, I ate it, that was 71 cals or so.

71 calories does not ruin a day's diet plan.

Log everything every day, plan ahead for your main meals, weigh, measure and write it down ( or use a daily food diary like myfitnesspal ....it really helps). Then you can incorporate a snack, kit kat or a glass of wine whatever, and still keep within your total calorie alloeance.

Like thousands of other succesful slimmers, I used myfitnesspal. Im 62 and my only exercise was 1 hour walk every other day. I ate 1300-1400 calories ON AVERAGE per day, but some days went to 2000 if a party or holidays . You just need to reduce your TDEE by 3500 a week/fortnight to lose a pound of fat. This can be done in a week or every two weeks, end result is same, just slower.

I did mine slowly, plenty of treats so I was able to keep going, and nine months later Id lost my excess 2st. Now maintaining and my BMI is 22.5 but Im still watching what I eat.
