I don't know if this is a worthwhile suggestion, for you, but here goes...

During summer Mrs FatbellyGutbucket and I took up our lounge carpet as it was riddled with moth. Underneath it was a concrete floor with vinyl tiles that can't have been cleaned for 30 years. As we won't be replacing the carpet for some time I started scrubbing them clean yesterday. It's a slow job - knee pads, and 1 tile at a time - but it is helping me burn some energy. Even after only a little effort, each day, I think it's helping the stomach. I even hope to tighten my belt a notch within the next few days.

Another thought - I've also been looking for a way to exercise the stomach and thighs. It might sound a bit daft but I've toyed with the idea of buying a hula hoop (NO - not one of those snacks in a little crinkly bag :) ).

I was surprised about the positive stories on the Internet. It's a more serious exercise activity than I expected.

It might be a good way to get things moving. I think I'd keep the curtains shut, though.

I think squats and crunches would help, also there a lot of exercise videos that focus on those areas, search google and find one that suits you best
