Ainsley harriot spice sensation cous cous only 176cals i had it on its own with wholemeal pita bread, it was yummy and very filling. The packet costs less than a quid, different flavours and can be used instead of pasta or rice. Give it a try

Veggie wraps are a quick meal to make. Put some chicken in the crock pot and cook it all day. Put cream of chicken soup in it. Salads are good. Are u getting enough protien? Protien drinks are a quick meal replacement. Egg white owlets r good

One of my standby meals is an egg-white omelette (or with one yolk and four whites), opened flat on the plate and with a variety of veg piled on top, e.g. shredded cabbage, herbs, chopped red capsicum and onion, shredded carrot, mushroom, whatever veg you have. You could cook the veg (e.g. broccoli 3 min in the microwave oven) and then chop them before adding them.

Alternatively, a variety of salad ingredients (or cooked veg; in-season veg are cheaper) with tinned tuna on top.

HI,

I LIKE TUNA PASTA:-TIN OF TUNA, CHOPPED ONION, PEPPER , LOW FAT MAYO ADDED TO COOKED PASTA. SEASON TO TASTE.

I FIND 200G DRIED PASTA MAKES ENOUGH FOR 4 WITH THE ABOVE INGREDIENTS ADDED.

I'VE HAD IT BOTH COLD AND WARM.

YOU CAN ADD WHATEVER INGREDIENTS YOU LIKE TO IT. VERY VERSATILE.

KEEP GOING IT'S WORTH IT !!

Enjoy your tea, whatever you have! I forgot to say, of course I add condiments, e.g. soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce, a little vinegar, salt and pepper, or Tobasco sauce, etc. I don't eat it all bland.

Also, I actually prefer tinned salmon to tuna, but it is more expensive, Sardines are good too.

Often I follow it with a small piece of fruit, or some sugar-free jelly (to satisfy the sweet tooth)

stay positive. If you want to chat feel free too. I look on here every day. The best time to weigh your self is when you first get up in the morning that way you have nothing in your stomach.

Salads - cheapest meals, easy and quick to prepare, healthiest meal you could have ;) and helps a lot on your losing weight plan. It's not always about the number of calories, but most of it of the quality and the type of food that comes with the calories ;)

Liver, not everyones cup of tea I know but if you can handle it then you've got a fantastically nutritional food, which could almost be described as a Superfood for very little money. Personally I prefer Lambs Liver (costs a little more than Pigs) which is ridiculously cheap at Tesco's off the butchers counter, 60 pence will buy you more than enough for a meal.

thanks not had that since i was a kid whats the best way to cook it???

It doesn't take much cooking, if you overcook it then it ends up as tough as old boots.

This is how I personally cook it, I fry an onion with some bacon (cut into pieces), I add a little dried sage as it cooks (optional) I then add the liver (cut into smaller pieces) along with a little garlic, I cook the liver for a few minutes on either side, then I add some Tomato Puree to clean up the bottom of the pan, then I add some stock, let that cook for about 10 minutes, that's it really. Don't be afraid if it's a little pink on the inside, or if you see droplets of blood appearing.

try the BBC GoodFood site, they have some good low cal recipes, you can make enough for two or four meals, so the money goes further and it costs less. I am suing the recipes to plan for my weeks shopping, that way I don't keep going to the shops and buying more junks food, too expensive and too many calories, also every time I go to the shops and almost buy some ice cream, or biscuits or something, I don't buy it but check the price, then put that amount of money in a money box, I'm saving for a holiday in Spain or Slovakia, when the money box is full, I should have lost a lot of weight and gained a lot of money.

I find most of my low cal recipes on the internet, good luck
