Hi. Just joined today as feeling tota... - Weight Loss Support
Hi. Just joined today as feeling totally upset about how heavy I am and not being able to stick to healthy eating. Is this plan any good?
Its good to have support from others and to know your not the only one who feels that way. Im trying to eat healthy but when I don't, I now tend to remind my self that life is short, too short to feel guilty about some lovely thing we have eaten when there are people with not enough to eat. Then I go back to the healthy food knowing I can eat unhealthy if I want, its my choice. But when I do eat healthy I feel so much better.
Hi Jules. I joined just ober a wk ago & am enjoying coming here to chat & get support & motivation from the others. We are here for the same reason so will help & support & offer advice if we can.
I need to loose about 5-6 stone, I know I will never be a twiggy but I want to be healthier & fitter.
Jules
Good luck- the key is to remain motivated. I'm quite new to this myself but I know what has helped so my tips are these: don't change too much of your normal diet- just try to eat less of it and eat more healthy fresh fruit and veg and high fibre foods that don't hold too many calories- control portions by weighing stuff, keep the scales out on the worktop so they are quick to use- read labels, it keeps things in perspective-count calories for every meal if you can, it's tedious at first but it saves that end of the day groan! and get to know others on here that are in the same boat.
Get yourself the free MyFitnessPal app. You enter your details and it calculates how many calories you need to stay under to lose weight. As long as you enter everything you eat it will keep a tally for you, letting you know how many calories you have left each day. If you have a smartphone it will even read barcodes.
Don't cheat and you will lose weight!
Being 15stone when I should be 7... totally upset doesn't begin to describe me! But I agree with above, It's in my hands. Had a good week last week but a poor day yesterday- so I started again today with soup for lunch, yogurt and fruit. Planned a fish and veg tea and a walk this afternoon. I use my fitness pal and find it best to key in items before I eat them to avoid surprises. I made some healthy parsnip soup and it worked out at 400+ calories!
Keep going, we'll get there.
