You calorie count absolutely everything including sauces, gravy etc. I even count the cube of jelly I take for my nails.

Hi vespa64,

If you'e counting the calories you're ingesting from food and drink in order to achieve a "calorie deficit" - as most people on a weight loss regime are - then you need to count absolutely E V E R Y T H I N G.

Whilst most fruit and veg are not spectacularly high-calorie, some do need to be watched in terms of portion control. Read the side of the next bag of potatoes you buy - you might just be surprised how few potatoes make a portion and how many calories that contains.

On the other hand much fruit and veg are good sources of essential nutrients like vitamins, minerals, etc., so they are well worth ensuring you are getting enough of.

Good luck with your weight loss efforts
