Hi mr1pac,

Cycling is a great exercise for anyone. It's a good cardiovascular workout but easier on the joints than running. I tend to ride for about 40 minutes a day (to and from work) and according to MyFitnessPal burns about 784 calories with that amount of cycling riding at 12 - 14 mph (moderate).

Cycling can also be incorporated into your daily life quite easily. Cycling to work (so long as you don't have a huge commute), short journeys for your Sunday paper etc can be a cycle ride too. It's a simple lifestyle change too, I'm off work today and fancy a coffee so I'll cycle the 2 miles to the coffee shop, that way I'll burn off the coffee I'll have drank.

As for whether cycling is bad for men, it hasn't done Chris Boardman or Sir Chris Hoy any harm has it?

Good luck.

Depends on the rate at which you walk vs the rate you cycle.
