PCOS please help

I was diagnosed with PCOS my doctors haven’t really helped me at all. Was very over weight and had no periods at all. I’ve now lost 6 and a half stone and I still need to loose 3 stone for NHS help. My periods can’t back 3 months ago and are 36 to 40 day cycles I’ve been doing ovulation tests and there always negative. What’s going on with my body I don’t understand any of it. What can help me ovulate if my periods have come back? Is it a bad sign I’m not ovulating? Will I ovulate? I’m 33 and been TTC for 13 years 😭. I’m starting to feel there is no hope for me. Private clinics aren’t an option for me due to money issues. Thank you in advance to anyone who replies.

Firstly, well done on the weight loss! Keep it going. Being obese can mess with hormones and make it not very easy to conceive, so the nearer you are to normal weight the better. Also if you were to fall pregnant, you should have a lot less complications in your pregnancy.Have you tried a product like MyOva or Alpha infolic? Look at Pharmasure for Alpha infolic. They contain myinstol which is supposed to help ovulation. It was recommended to me by a fertility nurse.

Have you and your partner had any tests through the NHS? After 13 years of trying you definitely should ask for these if you haven't already. As if you can't conceive naturally, maybe a round of IVF maybe a possibility on the NHS for you or even fertility drugs.

Good luck in your journey. We had been trying for 4 years and at the age of 38, have a healthy 2 week old son.

Congratulations on the birth of your son your so lucky. The NHS won’t help me until my BMI is at 30 it’s at 33.7 at the moment so I have a long way to go to get it down. I do take a lot of supplements like inositol, omega 3, folic acid, d3 multi vitamins etc. I’ve had a very bad experience with the NHS when I was diagnosed my doctor literally said to me you have PCOS but don’t worry you can have IVF once you’ve lost all your weight I was devastated. I’ve had scans that showed cysts and scans that don’t. I made an appointment with my doctor once my period ms came back but she told me because there not 28 to 30 day cycles I’m not ovulating so loose more weight. They won’t test my partners sperm count because I’m not at a BMI of 30. She wouldn’t even explain to me about ovulation or the lack of it even thou I’m having periods every month. I just feel so deflated and the information I’ve found on google is so confusing.

Honestly, this doctor sounds terrible. I would change who you're with as soon as you can and maybe raise the issue with another GP there about this. I'm overweight with a BMI over what it's meant to be and have severe PCOS but my current doctor has never blamed any of my symptoms or issues on my weight. He's made comments that it can be exacerbated by being overweight but never once refused to help me or check something because of it. This is not okay - especially from a medical professional.

But also, mega congrats on the weight loss! It's so hard to do with the hormonal imbalances from PCOS but you've done so amazingly. Well done x
