I am a 26 year old woman with PCOS. my symptoms are VERY mild. I have no excess hair, acne nor am I over weight. I miss periods very occasionally. I may miss a month but not often at all.
Me and my partner have been trying for a baby with no luck at all.
Last year I got referred to the reproductive medicine unit. I have had my HSG X-ray (which was not pleasant at all!) internal scans, blood tests and so on. My partner has also had all his checks. We have our first appointment with the consultant this Monday coming and I can not express how nervous I am. I don't know what to expect at all. Can anyone shine a light on what will be happening?
Thank you to everyone!

They will go through all your test results, and I think a lot depends on whether you’re ovulating or not.
If you are, but haven’t conceived in 2 years of trying, I imagine they’ll offer you ivf straight away. If you’re not they’ll probably offer you ovulation induction. I had this with clomid - you take 5 pills on consecutive days towards the beginning of your cycle and then use ovulation kits to time having sex (or just have it all the time!). I know there are other drugs that do similar but I haven’t tried them.
The majority of women with PCOS do end up conceiving even if it takes a little help and you’ve definitely got age on your side! My doctor would love it if I was 26 😂 Wishing you all the luck and you might be interested in checking out the fertility network board on here. The ladies on there are brilliant and you’ll get loads of support/answers to any questions xx
Is your partner going too? They should prescribe clomid initially- look at the fertilityfriends website as this will tell how to see if you are ovulating as we can be a bit hit and miss - you can ovulate without a period and a period doesn’t mean you are ovulating either- was your partners sperm results good?
Hope the appointment went well! I am just a couple of months behind you in terms of consultations (not age, unfortunately!) and have just about finished having all my tests, but our results/first proper consultation isn't util October. Let us know how you got on and wishing you the best of luck
