i hadn’t had a period for 8 months, the doctor give me some tablets to bring on one. It’s finally come and it’s super painful, i can barely walk 😭 is this normal for someone who hasn’t had a period for so long ?

Hi is it provera they have given you to bring it on? This is what I take every 3 months. It was never particularly painful for me at all but if your lining was really thick then that may make you have worse cramps and so be very painful. Just to be sure I would maybe just ring the docs? Xx

it was utovlan, and yeah i hadn’t had a period for 8 months and before that it was 8 months. it’s honestly awful, i might consider ringing my doctor xx

Think speaking to the doc is a good idea. It’s never been particularly painful for me even after a long time of no period but with pcos we are all so different! X

Yes isnt uncommon as your womb lining will be thick which may cause more discomfort. Ideally you should have a period every 3 months or so to keep the womb lining from building up.
