Hello everyone, hope you have a wonderful midweek so far! π€
I have been on gluten free diet for almost 5 months now and I want to enjoy our traditional treat fried brioches or none traditional sweet sesame seeds donuts again. I decided to make them today. π They are known for soft, fluffy, and hollow inside. We used to get from the store to eat by themselves for breakfast, or dip into green onion porridge π₯£ also. (Store uses wheat so I canβt have them anymore).
Recipe:
1. Mix well: 1 and 1/3 cup gluten-free flour (I used quinoa, buckwheat mixed with almond flour), 1 tbsp baking powder, β¨1/4 tsp salt, 1/2 cup of cashew milk, and 2 tbsp of cane sugar.
2. Mix 1 tsp dry yeast with luke warm water (let it sit until froth), 2 tbsp ground flaxseed mixed with water.
3. I used standing mixer for kneading all ingredients together with 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit for an hour.
4. Roll into balls and dip into mixture of sesame seeds, then flatten them. All ready for deep frying ( no other way around if I want them fluffy and hollow inside) in olive oil.
They are crispy outside and soft inside, scrumptious with a cup of chamomile tea. ππ
As always, be inspired, be joyful, take a picture and Enjoy it! πβ€οΈ
My sheep are doing ok though it has been very wet and windy weather, so to cheer my sheep up, I keep giving them my Brussels sprouts. But I love Brussels sprouts too! So then I have to buy more for me, but then I seem to give those to my sheep too! βΊοΈ I hope you and your fur babies are keeping warm too π ππ
Awe Iβm glad they are doing okay and I can imagine how that kind of weather is not so good but they have a nice pad you have for them. π
Wow they love sprouts too just like us. Youβre so kind to share with them. I love them boiled with chives with a little bit soy sauce and sesame seeds like how they serve in jap restaurants. ππ
Thank you all our fur babies are doing fine and happy. πππβ€οΈ
Wow these look good Koko I love sesame seeds as they pack a great nutritional punch as they are packed with calcium so a great addition for both the gluten free tribe and the plant based tribe.
Iβd love to try these briochesβ¦π

Awe thank you Jerry very much for saying that! ππ
Absolutely love sesame seeds for taste and many health benefits esp the black ones. π
You can have as many brioches as you want Jerry and definitely Yayyy for GF and Plant based tribe! ππ
By now, being on GF diet, I no longer feel bloated and my eczema is completely almost gone. I donβt have migraine now but just some usual headache if Iβm stressed which I probably will stop getting quarterly migraine shots when I feel π― confident I donβt need it anymore.
Thank you Byron2020 very much for saying that about my brioches! ππ
They are so delicious and I would share anytime if youβre my neighbor. π
Congrats on your 5 months Gluten Free!π₯β¨π I knew you could do itπ. Your GF brioches look like they came out perfect and are so appealing π. Have a good nightππ€.
Gosh! thats gone quick - five months of GF already - well done Koko, so glad your reaping the benefits. I love your Sesame seed Brioches, they look wonderful π
Thank you Debs, time has gone by so quick and it does pay off being on gluten free along with wholesome vegan diet. π€π
These are so good just toasting them and enjoy with ice cream too. ππ
Wish you are my neighbor Debs so we can enjoy over some good shows. π
Iβve been trying to rest my neck and shoulders all day today as I slept in wrong position last night, canβt move my neck much π but itβs gonna be alright soon with lots of tiger balm and salonpas. π
Oh no Koko, hope your feeling alot better now? Hope the tiger balm and salonpas helps alot. So glad your able to rest. I would love for us to be neighbours - it would be great
In the evening i was able to move wider range with my neck and today I feel better just a little bit sore. The weather changed so strange here as it got hot to 80F in a sudden so I found myself on top of the blanket and no pillow in awkward position that I must be in deep sleep that wasnβt aware. I have my beans neck pillow on so it helps resting my neck. After today more rest and tiger balm I will be fine. π
So glad your feeling a bit better π keep resting, they do say Tiger balm is great, something I have not tried yet. Glad you resting and hope its cooled down - that is very strange.
Thank you Debs, itβs so hot still here so I made my detox drink Chlorophyll mint liquid supplement (I got from whole food market) and lemon juice to refresh. ππ
I just saw this post. Hopefully by now youβre starting to feel better. Tiger balm is great, my mum told me about it last year when I hurt my foot. Arnica is good for healing bruising, Iβve used that for years, but itβs not really relevant for your predicament just now. Sending you lots of good wishes to feel better π
Awe thank you HungryHufflepuff. π€πI feel better now, just need to apply tiger balm more and rest as I think Iβll be back like new after today. Iβm sorry you hurt your foot and glad you healed well.
Thank you for letting me know about Arnica for bruising. I wish I knew that because it took a while for me to heal when I slipped and fell on porridge they spilled for patients at work that I didnβt see. π
Hope you have a beautiful Saturday so far with your family and fur babies, enjoy more yummy sprouts.π€ πβ€οΈ
