I have ectopic heartbeats which thank goodness has recently calmed down since taking Bisoprolol. I had spoken to my GP in April as I was getting bloating and strange feeling in my abdomen before my ectopics started. I had a call last week from a gastroenterologist who wants to do an endoscopy just to rule out any stomach problems ( not sure why) I am now worried that having this procedure might start up my ectopics again. Does anyone know if this might happen as I’ve just read it may cause irregular heartbeats. Thanks for any advise

Hello there Britishgas your predicament is understandable but you really need to as a specialist this.

What you have to realise is that procedures like an endoscopy are standard procedure so they know how to look after you. I know as I’m a diagnosed coeliac and this was diagnosed after an endoscopy.

So I can tell you that no one looks forward to things like this but it’s a means to an end and in your own best interests.

Please ask the gastroenterologist for more guidance with your needs and good luck.

Many thanks for your reply. I rang the hospital to put the appointment forward so I could speak with my cardiologist first.
