Keeping weight stable while changing regular diet.

Hello everyone,

I am quite new to this whole site and learning more each time.

I have a dear friend who is a Doctor of Chinese Medical herbs. She has been treating me since my diagnosis in October 2019. Over the year we have been restricting my diet away from meat and also limiting cooking as some foods change when overcooked. It has been a difficult change and I have lost weight which is not a good thing for me. So now I am trying to increase my portions while eating fewer of the foods I used to rely on for calories.

I am very interested in learning more about plant-based foods, especially recipes with high calories.

Hello Faith33 I'd check out the Topics as there are lots of recipes and youre in an unusual situation wanting high calories so would look at all things nuts here's a link that you may find interesting:healthline.com/nutrition/hi...

Thanks Jerry, it is the first time I have heard of sprouting bread...

Hi faith

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner.

I agree with Jerry in that nuts would be good, also seed butters. Here's a link which might assist.

Also, I make my own spelt sourdough bread so if you'd like to have a go and to eat healthy carbs I can share the recipe with you. I'm a big fan also of peanut butter and make my own.

Very best of luck.

Thanks for your help and the link was useful. I have made a list, some I already eat but good to know they are high in calories. I'm on a learning curve...

You are most welcome. Seeds and nut butters really are very good as they contain healthy fats.

The very best of luck.

Hi Faith

I forgot to share this raw bar recipe with you.

allrecipes.com/recipe/21859...

I use raw cacao powder instead of cocoa, don't use any salt, it's not needed and I add a very small amount of water to help bind, if the dates are really sticky you may not need it.

I also make my own peanut butter and that's what I use. These are far superior to any shop bought raw bars as far as I'm concerned and cheaper.

Enjoy😋😋

I cannot recommend them highly enough, I've been making them for a very long time, I've tried others but they don't beat these
