Since Kitten-whiskers posted a poll a few weeks ago in relation to what is in our beauty/cleaning products I am becoming a lot more aware. I have to say I have been thinking for a while about what goes in our face/body creams etc but haven't done anything about it.
Since I have become a Vegan I am now becoming more aware but am appalled really on what manufacturers charge for natural paraben free products as most normal people can't afford what they cost. I have been buying natural antiperspirant in Holland & Barret for around 3 to 4 years now as that's not too bad in price and can actually work out cheaper, particularly if you buy the crystal as that can last for around 2 years as long as you don't drop it.
I have come across this today which is very useful and I am going to have a go at making my own and to see how it works out.
I think it’s well worth a try. I went through a stage of buying liquid Castile soap on line costs about £9 and adding essential oils which I already had but I haven’t done it for a while. I have struggled to find a decent natural shampoo and conditioner as it makes my hair sooo knotty! I use a salt deodorant as well and I think it’s great. Also....whilst we are on the subject I bought an eco egg ball for laundry and that means you save money on clothes washing detergent. I think it’s great! They last ages but I throw it away after about a year. 🌱
Thank you Ali and I do as Well, all unnatural ingredients the manufacturers use do concern me. Yes I've seen a few things made with Castille soap.
I have a shampoo soap bar but haven't used it yet, I'll let you know what it's like when I do. Those deodorants are brilliant aren't they.
Re eco egg, I'm very intrigued with that, how does yiur washing get clean when not using any detergent, I've often thought that. I really want to use one but that question has held me back.
Hi, well it seems to work for me. It smells fresh but not over the top. It has little detergent balls in it so it must be them that do the cleaning. They are good for about 700 washes. Sometimes for a change I use Ecover.
I bought a shampoo bar and it’s an odd concept but froths up well. My problem is my hair is just below shoulder length and it got my hair in a proper twist! Also it felt funny kind of stiff. Phil said oh your hair looks nice! lol that’s men for you. He must like the pulled through a hedge backwards look! 😁
Well that's it then, you've sold it for me. Once I've used my powder up I'm buying one.😀
That's a good amount of washing.
I've got Ecover softener at the mo but it does get to me how much more expensive these things are, they want us to help the environment but they aren't making it easy.
Lol, I think Phil needs to do his hair with it then and nay be shave with it.😂 I've yet to try the bar I have, think I'll use it tonight and see how I get on.
I might remember when I wash my hair again, watch this space👱♀️
Hey you’ll smell great with some of these Alicia and VFL is for all things vegan so this is very pertinent.
I had really dry hands and made some bread rolls and coated my hands in olive oil to shape the rolls and the olive oil was amazing on my hands compared to commercial hand creams.

Mist definitely Jerry and it's very important to save our planet.
That sounds good, I may make something with olive oil in it.😀
