This is interesting. I thought vegan things seemed to slow down in the autumn but it seems to be taking off again. Our lovely vegan cafe is being taken over. Not sure if it’s still vegan but I hope so and I hope places like KFC and Greggs aren’t putting healthy eating vegan establishments out of business but I have heard that they are. Time will tell.

Yes I found it interesting as well and agree that things do normally slow down in the Autumn until Veganuary commences in January. Oh I do hope your café stays vegan when it's taken over and totally agree that I hope the 'big guns' don't put the smaller individual vegan eateries out of business as they are normally a lot healthier than the big guns, they seem to think that we all want burgers which isn't the case.

Hi Jerry, it's a start but only Mondays ? Every day the most delicious whole vegetarian and vegan food is served in The Good Earth, Wells and The Rainbow in Glasonbury amongst others, I took it for granted when I lived there, I sure miss them now. Please don't say "well go back to Somerset then". I love the forest, and the soil is better here for growing veg I find.🌿

Hi Susi,

They have just introduced a vegan menu and to promote it and the never ending demand for vegan meals they are having plant based Mondays where everything is plant based. This is a big step as Dirty Bones is a big US fast food chain.

As for moving from the forest I don't blame you as apart from avoiding driving through it in these storms it's a wonderful area and wonder if the soil has iron from all the mining that went on on the forest mines. The other thing that I've noticed is the price of logs is very cheap around here for some reason.

I think that what this shows is that the demand for vegan options is outstripping demand and imagine it will more readily available in the forest soon. 😊

Thanks Jerry, I understand now, I have never heard of Dirty Bones but if it's a US chain then things must be moving.

Agree logs are cheap here, everything is in the forest, I have joined the freecycle group here, a kind local person has just given me a cast iron casserole, I'm hoping that cooking in non- enameled iron will help my slight anemia. 🙂

Hey you're cast iron casserole sounds great and it will help build your muscles LOL.

The best bit is the more moisture in the food the better for iron absorption with cast iron, so a cast iron casserole is perfect. 😊
