Wensleydale style cheese with Cranberries

β€’14 Replies

I tried a different Vegan cheese at lunchtime. Will I buy this cheese again, it's a resounding YES, I loved it.

I know that Kitten-whiskers wanted to know what it was like so this is my answer.πŸ˜‹

It was brilliant finding a different cheese to try.πŸ˜‹

Hi Alicia I have had a vegan cheese with cranberries and I’d agree it’s the best one I’ve tried as well. I have it at Christmas (from Sainsburys). I think the cranberries break up the flavour of the cheese and somehow it works. I’m glad you liked it. I fancy some now πŸ˜‹

Hi Ali

Yes I really did enjoy it and agree that it's prob ably the inclusion of the cranberries that breaks it up and makes it so tasty.

I'll definitely buy more that's for sure.πŸ˜€

So am I. It’s a tricky one. I think anyone who creates a realistic vegan cheese will be quids in! πŸ§€ If you try the cranberry one report back 😁🌱

Ooh yes please Ali, I'd love to knowπŸ‘

It's definitely one of the best I've tried. I'm going to sometime have another go at making my own. I tried to make some quite a long time ago with cashews and it didn't like my tummy.

I'll give it another go but with different ingredients next time.

I’m just making pepper jack cheese so will report back. It does have a few cashews though so maybe not good for you but thinking about it you could possibly sub cashews for coconut cream. πŸ€”

Ooh sounds lovely Ali. Yes I'd love to know what it's like and the peppers, if that's what you use, may balance out the cashews.πŸ˜€

Thank you Alicia 😁 That does look nice, I will have to try that one. I had the sainsburys pickled onion and herb red leic type cheese and that was lovely - had some complaints about the smell - but never mind, I carried on regardless 😁

It is lovely. Ooh I like the sound of the red Leicester cheese, I'll give that one a go. I'm not bothered about the smell, hubby doesn't like the smell of my other cheese but hey hoπŸ˜‰
