How many animals are saved each year per vegan 🌱

I was wondering how many animals are saved each year by one person being vegan and found this statement...

According to PETA 198 are saved each year, per vegan person, but technically, none are. Animals are not saved or spared due to the amount of vegans in the world. However, less animals are "produced" to be slaughtered. So, maybe 198 animals per vegan are not produced to be killed.

Oh dear, when its put like that, it doesn't sound very good at all. I want the animals to have a life, one where they are looked after and loved, cared for and kept save and happy.

Good morning, I didn’t look at it like that at all. I thought it was good that if 198 animals were not being needlessly bred so that they had a life of misery and then ended up in the slaughter house. I would much rather an animal was not born at all than in to a life of fear and torture but yes it would be perfect if animals were conceived and born naturally and lived out their full lives in happy and caring environments.....one day ay..πŸ’•

Hello Ali, it is good from that point of view, but still lots of work to be done

Hi Ali, Obviously the more people who turn vegan the less animals we humans will share our planet with. So this isn't a good statistic in my opinion, the important one is potentially 198 per vegan...😊

Interesting.

I have a tendency to avoid anything which " tries hard to imitate the real thing". I also avoid Alpro's ice cream looking as if it's dairy. Is Alpro sweetened by white sugar? That would put me off, too. There is a list of foodstuff that is destructive to our environment.

This list may contain your favourite ingredients. Living ethically is never straightforward.

Just to add to this, if 198 less animals are needed in the food chain over a vegans lifetime then thats over 2 animals per year and whats wrong with that? 😊

I thought it meant 198 animals are saved a year by one person being vegan.
