The figures speak for themselves and this is great news for the animals whom we give a voice whenever we ask for a vegan option or spend our vegan pound ππ±π
A staggering 100,000 people have signed up for Veganuary 2019. One person has been signing up for the initiative every eight seconds, putting the organization on course to hit its target of 300,000
The charity - which supports people as they try out a vegan diet throughout January - has seen year-on-year growth since its first outing in 2014 when 3,300 people took part. By January 2018, that had skyrocketed to 168,500 official sign-ups from around the world, with many more people unofficially taking part.
Veganuary has set a target of 300,000 sign-ups for 2019 - and is now a third of its way to that target already. Yesterday was its best day yet for sign-ups - with a staggering 10,000 people signing the pledge.
Vegan 2019
"We can't believe it but we have reached a third of our target for Veganuary 2019," the charity said.
"Thank you so much to everyone who has taken our pledge so far and helped us reach another amazing milestone.
"Please spread the word and encourage your friends and family to try vegan in January and help us hit our 300,000 goal."
