Hello I am being treated for renal-limited vasculitis from p-ANCA, MPO. eGFR has improved from 23 to 56 over last three months. So many lifestyle and dietary changes implemented. Now I start to miss my weekend beer or two. I get mixed messages from the doctors and internet searches on whether ok to consume alcohol and what the reactions can be. If anyone is able to share their experience it would be appreciated, thank you.

Adding alcohol does add a complicating factor when interpreting your blood results. One beer might be OK without rocking the boat, but be concious that sometimes alcohol reduces one's control - and it becomes more than one beer.
Personally I found that even small amounts of alcohol messed up my blood tests, so I've avoided it since - sorry! I do miss the flavour, the social aspect and the relaxation but not the anxiety of interpreting the blood results.
Thank you its a really tough one when alcohol has been a significant lifestyle factor for so many years and now everything is upside down in terms of diet, lifestyle and what we can enjoy. Then there is the friends who I see only once a year and we always drank together. Of course it's health first but then you think when will I be able to enjoy some of the pleasures I once did. Appreciate your time and I understand the anxiety aspect you emphasise. Best of luck on your journey//
