Hi all, my urine samples have started showing leukocytes protein and blood. I have GPA which mainly affects my lungs and now sinuses. I guess I just want to know if having these in my urine with no actual urine infection could mean that there's possibly now kidney involvement too?. Hope you're all keeping well.
Leukocytes, protein and blood.: Hi all, my... - Vasculitis UK
Leukocytes, protein and blood.
hi I’m no expert but I would contact your consultant to ask for advice/ treatment or the vasculitis helpline if this is a new symptom for you. As it’s a bank holiday on Monday I would try today.
You say you don’t have a urinary infection has this been checked by GP. ? UTI can be painless. Do you often dip your urine to find these results?
Vasculitis tends to throw curve balls and seems to be a disease that continues to give so I would seek further advice as soon as possible.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I have my urine checked everytime I see my consultant and bloods done every 4 weeks. This last urine test was done by the urologist. ( I think that's what he's called) nothing has been said about my urine until now. I'm nearly at 4 years since diagnosis. I'm due my bloods next week which have U and Es on which I'm sure is kidney function so hopefully nothing shows up.
Like Main1234 I’m not an expert but I was 3 years after diagnosis all clear with urine tests, my ANCA was low all was good but some blood and protein was found when I gave my routine urine sample. My Consultant just said let’s see next time. I didn’t have an infection and next time clear again. My Consultant says it happens, high fibre/low carb lifestyle can do it. Get your advice but don’t worry. Nick.
hello my GPA has so far affected my kidney only. I have protein and RBC in my urine but no Leukocytes. Given the speed at which my kidney function deteriorated I wouldn't wait to see a nephrologist about this. Hopefully no involvement but I learned timing is everything. Good luck and hope it's nothing//
